Donald Trump's presidency will help fuel a new era of prosperity for Australians, says leading global bank
Donald Trump's trade war with China will make Australia wealthier and boost exports, a global finance giant says.
The U.S. president-elect promised during last year's election campaign to slap 45 per cent tariffs on imported Chinese goods in a bid to save American jobs.
One of the world's biggest financial services firm, HSBC, says the incoming Trump Administration's trade war with Australia's biggest trading partner will in fact encourage China to buy more Australian coal and iron ore to make steel.
'We think the likely policy response from China would be more infrastructure spending ... which is good for Australia,' HSBC’s chief economist in Australia Paul Bloxham told The Daily Telegraph.
Mr Trump campaigned to revive American manufacturing and stop jobs going to Mexico and China, helping him to win the rust belt states of Michigan, Pensylvania and Wisconsin.

Obamas aim was to weaken and run down the US. Already manufacturers like Ford and Carrier are returning to the US after being encouraged to leave by Obama.
